What was it called?

Mombi and I need your help. We're trying to remember the name of a show that we watched as children, and we're coming up blank. It was a PBS show where a guy would draw illustrations for stories as he told them. The drawings were done in pastels or maybe colored pencils, on colored paper. If you know the name of the show, please let us know. The show inspired our creativity and love of books as kids, and we want to get copies of the episodes to show Griffin when he gets older.

No idea but we may have had different shows in Canada. I know of "Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_in_the_Land_of_Chalk_Drawings ) and the bits on Mr. Dressup where he drew pictures to go with a story. Not sure of any other one with drawings.

The only thing I can think of is Picture Pages with Bill Cosby . . . Picture Pages, Pictures Pages, lots of fun with picture pages, lots of fun with paper and a pencil!

A while back you mentioned some exercises that Mombi does with Griffin, can you tell me a bit more about those berrymomnw @ comcast.net

Supermom, Mombi is going to post on that soon. She's been ill, but will do so when she's up and around again.

We're still trying to figure out the name of the show. So many people remember it, but no one seems to know the name of the show. I've looked on Yahoo questions and found many other people who are also looking for it, but none who had the answer. *sigh* The search continues.

I found your blog because I was googling to find out the name of the show myself.

Good luck.

To all my faithful blog readers, I thank you. I am currently having family issues with my side and am cutting off all commincation ties. I just cant take the drama and crap and how everything seems to be my fauly even though I have not seen them in over 5 years, some 15 years +. I just cant take it. My husband is in Iraq, I just miscarried, I have a lot on my plate and I dont need it. I tried and tried and tried to make things ok but it always fails and I cant take it. So, my blog and my myspace are now set to private and can only been seen if I invite you to read and see.
So, PLEASE email me, if you would like the invite to continue to read my blog.
Thank you for following my journey on my blog.

For some reason I thought it was called "Storytime." (perhaps unrelated to the more current PBS show by the same title) The theme song, a solo voice accompanied by a simple guitar, would sing, "Storytime has come, let's gather 'round..." Loved it!

maybe it was Readit with John Robbins

I am sure it was called Gather round...remember at the end of the song, come on everybody...gather round, and the words Gather round were on the bottom of the tv screen. John Robbins drew but so did a gray, short haired woman...
